Staff training

Our 'Introduction to PBS' course offers a one-day training to support workers, residential care managers and other professionals who are looking to gain a better understanding of how PBS can be used within their organisations.

Our training offers an in-depth look into the science of behaviour. It helps care staff to take a reflective approach to understanding why challenging behaviour occurs in the first place and how to prevent it, rather than concentrating on de-escalation and restraint.

The 'Introduction to PBS' course covers:

  • Introduction: including values, ethics and legislation
  • Understanding the science of behaviour: including the 4 functions model and the ABC cycle of behaviour
  • Functional Behavioural Assessment
  • Proactive and preventative strategies: including primary prevention and secondary intervention techniques
  • Reactive strategies and safety planning
  • Strategies for monitoring and review

We can facilitate sessions virtually via Teams, or in-person at a venue near you!

Supervision

  • We are qualified and experienced to offer supervision to Level 4 and 5 PBS Practitioners.
  • If you are training your team to offer PBS in-house, we can offer the supervision needed to support people through the Level 4 and 5 BTEC qualifications!
